Do I really need insurance? You bet you do.
One of the attractions of Dubai are the low crime rates, compared to most expats’ home countries’ crime levels. Whilst the level of crime is very low and expats do not always lock their houses (although it is advised to lock all windows and doors when leaving the property), there are a range of risks that the expat needs to protect their home and belongings against.
Fire is an obvious risk, but had you ever thought about water leakage or flood – even when you live in a rented property? With the hot weather, we are dependent on air conditioning – and water leaking from an air conditioning unit is an all too common occurrence.
Your home needs protecting. Your contents need protecting.
Insurance is surprisingly easy to organise and cheap to buy. There are a number of well respected insurance companies in Dubai and the cover available is comprehensive – as good as you get back home.
