Ah ha, now this is a BIG subject.  Where do we start when writing about Dubai visas? There are different types of visas – employment, residence and mission – and that’s just a start.

There are over 200 different nationalities living and working in Dubai so there are strict regulations in place which help the authorities keep things neat and tidy.  The work in Immigration and the Ministry of Labour is continuous and the processes may seem difficult. In essence, however, most of the time there are relatively few problems.  If the correct document isn’t correctly stamped or issued then problems can and do occur.  It’s best to have a very good company deal with these things for you.  Contact us for information.

Some PRO companies provide rather sketchy information and often at a high cost giving the Dubai services and authorities a bad name.  The Dubai Economic Department has stopped any new PRO licenses and has restricted their access to the Dubai Economic Department services to certain hours during the working day.  They hope that this will ensure visitors and residents alike will get a better service and in turn a better view of their city, Dubai.

You will need to show a copy of your visa to many different organisations so either scan or take an image with your mobile and download to your computer so that if you ever lose your passport (let’s hope that doesn’t happen as it’s an expensive exercise to have another issued!)  The visa copy shows that you are staying in Dubai legally.  Some authorities will not allow you to purchase items without a Dubai visa.
