Almost 75% of Zayed Dialysis Centre is built

The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai (IACAD), announced the completion of almost 75% of Zayed Dialysis Centre. The Centre is located in Al-Twar-3 area of Dubai. The report stated that the project is set to be completed within 104 days and will be finalized in September 2020.

The report stated the completion of the transformer room and supply 100%, in addition to the completion of the substructure and concrete structure works 100%, while 67% of the total electro-mechanical work has been completed. The report also indicated that the internal finishes have reached nearly 60%, while external works have reached the completion rate of 61%. The work is ongoing on the permanent electricity connection, as construction work began on July 21 of 2019.

The project came in line with its commitment towards humanitarian activities and to the objectives of Article 9 of the 50-Year-Charter launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

An AED 36.818 million contract to build the Zayed Dialysis Centre was announced last year in cooperation with The Dubai Health Authority and the Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation. In addition to the contribution of the charitable societies, which are the “Dar Al Bar” association, the “Beit Alkhair” association, and the “Dubai Charitable Society”, as well as the contribution of Dubai Islamic Bank and Noor Bank. The objectives of the contributions varied to include building, construction and design, in addition to Logistics equipment for the center.

The design and construction of the center are expected to be completed within 18 months from the date of signing the contract. A dialysis unit will be built outside the hospital, which is a licensed medical facility that provides services to dialysis patients on a regular basis, in addition to dialysis training at home. The centre will have 30% of its capacity, which is 40 beds, allocated to cases from contributing charities –Dar al-Bar, Beit Al Khair Society and Dubai Charity – who will be treated free.

The opening of Zayed Dialysis Centre will reaffirm Dubai’s standing as a major regional destination for medical tourism. It will help tourists on short stays in the country to get treatment of highest international standards.
