Dubai Home Phone Internet and TV

How easy is it to connect to the outside world? Our Dubai Home Phone Internet and TV guides will help you to understand the complexities!

All under the one banner, oops, two actually – Du and Etisalat. Click here if you’re more interested in mobile phone connections.

There are all sorts of comments from all sorts of users but when it comes to the Dubai home phone internet and TV providers you have little choice.

There are two home phone internet and TV providers who hold the key to your home phone, your internet connection and your TV packages.

etisalat-du

FIRST – Find out which provider supplies this service in your apartment or villa. A residential or commercial tower is serviced by either Du or Etisalat. The real estate agent (if he’s worth his salt) should have this information readily available. If he’s not worth his salt, speak to the security guys. If they don’t know ask a neighbour or phone Du (04 390 5555 – if you’re calling from abroad dial +971 4 390 5555) or Etisalat (presuming you’re not an Etisalat customer already, dial 800 101 – if you’re calling from abroad dial +971 4 004 44101).

SECOND – Now, this is where EJARI comes in really handy. You cannot make an application or get a connection without EJARI although recently some have applied and the EJARI certificate has not been requested but would you take a chance?

If you are asking a friend to complete the documentation you must first get a form from Etisalat or Du to complete with their details.  In the past a letter would suffice but Du now want this particular form completed. We’re checking Etisalat’s procedure for this. In the meantime phone them to double check – 800 101.

You need to visit the office/showroom of the required service provider and complete the process by paying a deposit which varies depending on the TV package you decide on.

If you simply want an internet connection ask. Some enquirers have been told that they must take the full package. This is not the case. Ask the person to double check. Al Shamil for Etisalat – see the application form. Du’s application form for broadband stand alone – see No 4 on the form.

NB: If you’ve lived in your home for a while now you may well have a connection with one of the two providers, obviously having applied before EJARI was a requirement. You should now apply for EJARI – it is MANDATORY.

NB: By the way if you haven’t registered your Tenancy Contract with EJARI. Do so now. The procedure is pretty painless or you can ask The MENA Professionals to do it for you at a small charge (save your time!) If you search the internet for EJARI please be careful and use only the official website – www.ejari.AE not .ME  The cost is AED 195. There are some companies who will charge you for this service and carry out the work for you.

NB:  Dubai has restrictions on the type of website content which is banned including pornography and some sites are blocked. Please remember to respect the customs of Dubai and keep clear of these types of sites.  If you want to report any sites you may do so – visit the service providers websites.

If you would like to share your experience of Du and Etisalat we’d love to hear from you.  The more information we have the better for everyone!
